Our Classes
Curriculum For Non French Speakers
The course curriculum focuses primarily on oral communication, although reading and writing will be introduced according to the child's age and abilities. In our French world your children will meet new friends (hand puppets for our youngest students) and will have a lot of fun. We use authentic materials: children books, songs, TV programs, movies and magazines for teens, plus a lot of interactive games and activities that make learning grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation very fun!
Curriculum For French Speakers- Bilingual Children
In our classes for French speakers, the focus will be on reading and writing. Text analyses and discussions are also an important part of the curriculum to make sure the children build strong communicative skills.
We use a integrative supportive instruction adapted to the needs of bilingual children, targeting their weakness points: reflexes to use English, "false friends", difficulties with spelling (e, accents, silent letters, the é-er-ez-ait, et-est-ai, son-sont, etc..)
Locations
In Baltimore, we generally have a group of small children, a group of beginner/ elementary children (7-11 y old). Our Classes for French speakers are generally a la carte. We organize them with interested families. Sometimes one tutor goes to a family with 2 or 3 children. The family pays an interesting hourly price ($60 or $65 hourly). Some families take lessons together to organize a group of 2-4 children at their own location. We rent rooms at the St Luke Church in Hampden. Please check the schedule of Baltimore Kids Classes here.
Here is the price list for private / a la carte lessons. We have some busy teenagers taking lessons on Skype. That gives them more felxibility in the schedule. Here is the price of Skype lessons.
